Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking mid-level Intellectual Property (Patent) Transactions Associates (multiple levels) with a minimum of three years of experience focused on patent acquisition, licensing, and related patent transactions. Previous transactions experience is highly desirable for this role.
This is a fully remote position for candidates residing in the approved states listed above. The firm's main office is in North Carolina.
This opportunity is ideal for an attorney whose practice has been primarily concentrated on patent-focused transactional work, rather than general technology transactions (though limited overlap is acceptable). The role offers the chance to work on sophisticated intellectual property deals in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate patent acquisition and licensing agreements
- Manage transactional matters involving patent transfers and commercialization
- Support complex IP transactions across various industries
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on high-value and strategic patent deals
- Provide practical, business-focused legal advice related to patent assets
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Minimum of 3 years of experience focused on patent acquisition and licensing
- Strong foundation in patent law and patent-related commercial agreements
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple transactional matters
- Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Eligibility for North Carolina Bar admission preferred
